The Nervous System is the Curriculum: The Love Loop for Emotionally Safe Classrooms
Community Workshop
Facilitator(s): Dr. Nikki Martyn
Date: Apr 29, 2026 | Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
In early childhood settings, behaviour is often a nervous system message, not a child “choosing” to be difficult. Grounded in Dr. Nikki Martyn’s forthcoming book, Love Over Algorithms: How to Raise Emotionally Safe Kids in a World of Screens, this practical, love-informed session introduces the Neurorelational Love Model and the Love Loop as frameworks for building emotionally safe classrooms through co-regulation, boundaries with warmth, and repair after hard moments. Participants will leave with ready-to-use scripts, micro-rituals, and an in-the-moment tool (the L.O.V.E. Method) they can apply immediately.
