Foundry Burnaby

BC Centre for Ability is proud to be one of ten organizations around the province to be selected as lead agency for a new Foundry centre. BCCFA, along with a diverse group of community partners, was successful in the application to bring Foundry to Burnaby. Foundry centres provide four pillars of health care to youth and young adults between the ages of 12 to 24—physical/sexual health, mental health, social supports, and peer supports. The project will include funding from the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions of approximately $3 million over the next 3 years, with the expectation that the grand opening of Foundry Burnaby will happen sometime in 2027.

This project will allow us:

  • To grow our leadership provincially and specifically in the community of Burnaby.
  • To lead in the design and delivery of better and more comprehensive services for children and youth in Burnaby.
  • To have the resources and infrastructure to better meet the mental health needs of our clients.
  • To grow and strengthen our profile and brand.
  • To diversify our funding sources/revenue streams.

We are in the early stages of planning this exciting project and are working closely with the Foundry Central office to determine next steps. We look forward to sharing more about the project as we go along.
